Title:3-D Geometry, Profiles of B(1 AU), and CME Arrival Time

Abstract:The major scientific impetus is to determine what directly observable solar data may be sufficient to drive the EFR model to calculate the propagation of the CMEs and accurately predict the magnetic field and size of CME ejecta at 1 AU. It is confirmed (Kunkel 2013), that the EFR model can be driven entirely by observational data - the CME trajectory - to calculate the magnetic field strength plasma quantities and the minor radius at 1 AU. If the magnetic field magnitude at 1 AU can be related to the observed CME trajectory, then what other magnetic field information can one extract from the available data? The results of Kunkel and Chen (2010) suggest that the initial acceleration profile.

In this talk will show a systematic study to determine not only whether there is consistently extractable information on CME magnetic field in the CME trajectory data but also the sensitivity of the predicted magnetic field at 1 AU on the amount of trajectory data available.
