Note on tracking Sun-Earth connection event ICME Event: 2013/02/16 Observer: Suman Dhakal on 2019/05 (part 1); 1. ICME 1.1. Catalog # Identified in ICME catalogs: Richardson & Can List RC catalog: Disturbance start time: 2013/02/16 12:09 UT Ejecta start time: 2013/02/17 10:00 UT Ejecta End time: 2013/02/17 19:00 UT dv = 60 km/s, v = 360 km/s, vmax= 410 km/s MC index: 1 Dst: -40 nT Suggested source CME: V_transit: km/s 1.2. SW Plots Overall ICME quality index: 3 SW type: EJ+SH ICME signatures: Bmax: 7.5 nT Bz is smoothly changing Other ICME signatures: low proton temperature and low plasma beta. Peculiar behavior: decrease in velocity is not that evident and most of the time density is high. Search Window: Upper bound: Disturbance speed 360 km/s: 116 hrs: Lower bound: Transit speed < 700 km/s: 60 hrs < 2. CME 2.1. A. Candidate A A.1. LASCO: #CME 2013/02/12 23:12, partial halo (from CDAW) Major CME moving SW with very fast linear velocity of 1050 km/s A.2. STEREO: Observed in both COR2-A and COR2-B. LE was sharp in COR2-A, consistent with front side source. A.3. AIA and GOES corresponding flare: C5 on 2013/02/12, peaked at 23:35 UT Filament eruption from decayed AR ~ S30W50 A.4. Comment: Unlikely to be the source due to high velocity. 2.2. B. Candidate B B.1. LASCO: #CME 2013/02/15 17:12, partial halo (from CDAW) Major CME moving with a velocity of 323 km/s B.2. STEREO: Observed as front side moving CME in both COR2-A and COR2-B B.3. AIA and GOES Source is not identifiable, could be high lying filament. B.4. Comment: Unlikely the source, because of the speed and time of the CME. 3. Other Comments Possible CME is not identified. In GMU catalog the source is identified as the CME on 02/14/2013 19:24, there was some activity around S05 W02 around 13:39 UT in AIA (see: https://cdaw.gsfc.nasa.gov/movie/make_javamovie.php?date=20130214&img1=sdo_a193&img2=lasc2rdf), however the CME is not distinguishable in C2 and COR2 images.
